Trek at Bhavar Kada Waterfalls

As a part of my CAS Activity Experience, I went on a trek to Bhavar Kada Waterfalls from the school. It was a 1 day trek on 25th July where we trekked on a mountain till the bottom to see the waterfall and climbed back up in 4 hours. The trek was a tiring yet adventurous experience where I was able to know a lot of information about the nature around me as well as experience new things. The walk down was challenging yet fun, while the walk back up was quite tiring. It was also heavily raining during the trek, making it more difficult, however we enjoyed.

LO 2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

The trek was quite challenging since it was muddy and we were trekking in the rain. It caused us to slip several times and also get dirty. It was also a very extensive trek and consumed a lot of our energy. However, I was gradually able to cope up with other strategies to walk in the mud like by sitting or sliding. I developed my problem solving skills in the process by adapting to the new situations I was in and walking constantly.

LO 4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience

This activity was quite challenging and hence we got demotivated at several points cause we were wet, muddy, and tired of walking for 4 hours. Yet, we stayed through the process and tried our best to reach the end by motivating each other. We made the most of the time we had there and enjoyed in the waterfall as well, which was a really fun and adventurous experience. This required commitment to be able to finish the trek as soon as we could.

Through the experience, I was able to develop the learner profile attribute of Risk Taker. I took risks while sliding through the mud protecting myself from getting injured and I was successfully able to do that. Further, I also demonstrated being Open Minded while trying to adapt to the new environment and being open minded towards the people and animals there. The experience taught me on how there can be several difficulties in achieving something however we can always overcome that through different strategies based on situations. It also encouraged me to critically think in situations of hardship and support my friends when they had trouble trekking, as they did for me.

Overall, the experience was quite enriching, fun and worthwhile after experiencing the waterfall and saving up a lot of memories through it as well.
