Vidvaan project (not the project)

The vidvaan project was an initiative where we collected funds from donors by explaining our cause, then we searched for vendors who sold cheap, yet high quality stationary that would last about 1 academic year. Then we made kits and delivered to a school in dang, we experienced the culture, how students live there and the disparities in the education system over there. I learnt how the government plays a role in education in rural areas, behaviour of parents towards education over there, the local culture, the flagship places (waterfalls, etc.) and the local food. I also understood how I can play a role in improving others lives and learnt how privileged I am.

Learning outcomes:

LO 7; Recognise and consider the ethics of choices and actions : I learnt how my choices (of being in the vidvaan project) lead to a feeling of self containment, contentment and ability to stay grounded. Additionally, it also allows me help the people in need and understand what I have.

LO 6; Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance: The vidvaan project dealt with the issue and SDG of quality education. By providing the students with the means of gaining quality education, we helped them attain it while also gaining knowledge about their culture and village.

LO 5: Demonstrate the skills and recognise the benefits of working collaboratively: As we worked in a group, I learnt many benefits of working in one. Firstly, as we were many people, the data base of donors with extremely large. Additionally, we also had a lot of fun, leaning from each others personality and creating new experiences together.
