At my school, business management and economics students set up booths to sell goods and services during the annual Global Odyssey event. As the leader of the Fun and Games stall, I was a member of the organising team. My friends and I also set up a football game booth where students could pay to play. It was a service experience since additional funds raised from charging students who kept their stalls were donated. The learning objectives attained during this CAS experience are listed below.
LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
As the Fun and Games stall leader, I was aware of my prowess in communication and organisation. By making sure that everything ran smoothly with my friends and running the stall during the event, I also improved my leadership abilities.
LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills
It took flexibility and problem-solving skills to run a stall. We had difficulties managing the crowd and efficiently setting up the game area, but I improved my communication and teamwork abilities to deal with these problems.
LO3:Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience We meticulously prepared the football game stall by selecting the rules, arranging the required supplies, and determining the game structure. Along with figuring out the expenses, we made sure the stall was eye-catching and interesting for the students.
LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively: Cooperation and clear communication were necessary when working with my friends. Because we assigned tasks according to individual strengths, the stall operated smoothly and effectively.
