Global odyssey (creativity)

We had a great experience at global odyssey 5.0. We the students of grade 11 had an event called global odyssey in which we had to select from fun, food, fashion or decor in which we were interested in. I had an opportunity to work in decor team; I and some people were working on how the whole event will look. It was a very fun time working with all the members in decor. The event was successful. In this event I was very curious to know what all things must be coming but then this event was not just a celebration of artistic expression but also a perfect opportunity for students to engage in the Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) and this event ran very smoothly it has some learning outcomes which I came across.

LO1- Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth screen reader support enabled.

During the Global Odyssey event, I learned more about my strengths and the areas I can improve. One of my strengths was creativity. We came up with decorating ideas for the “Pink Lemonade” theme and helping make them look good. I also realized I work well with others, sharing ideas and supporting my teammates. I also noticed things I could get better at. Recognizing these areas will help me focus on improving my planning and communication skills in future projects. This experience showed me that knowing what I’m good at helps me contribute effectively, while noticing where I can grow gives me chances to learn and do better.

LO2- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills.

The most valuable lesson was problem-solving under pressure. Whenever materials ran short or ideas did not work as planned, we had to quickly improvise and come up with alternatives. This helped me build confidence in my ability to adapt and find solutions on the spot. Through this experience, I developed several new skills. I learned how to incorporate different elements; I also gained hands-on experience in decoration techniques I had never tried before. Another skill I developed was collaboration; working with my peers taught me how to communicate better, share ideas, and delegate tasks effectively.

LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience.

My commitment showed in the way I took part in all the planning meetings, worked on the decorations myself, and supported my teammates whenever they needed help. By staying consistent and focused, we were able to finish the decorations on time and make them look their best. From the start of the project to the day of the event, I stayed dedicated, which helped make Global Odyssey a success and also taught me the importance of being responsible and reliable when working with a team.

LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively.

During the Global Odyssey event, helping with the “Pink Lemonade” theme decorations taught me a lot about working with others and how teamwork makes a project better. Everyone on the team had different ideas and strengths and combining them in creative ways was key to bringing the theme to life. We split the tasks based on what each of us was good at, some focused-on crafting and setting up decorations, while others handled lighting, props, and table arrangements. I learned how to share my ideas clearly, listen to others, and make compromises so everything looked coordinated.

Working together also taught me patience and flexibility. Sometimes things didn’t go as planned, or we ran out of materials, and we had to quickly think of solutions as a team. By helping each other and dividing the work, we were able to finish the decorations on time and make the “Pink Lemonade” theme look bright and fun. This experience showed me that teamwork not only makes work easier but also helps produce more creative results. Seeing all our efforts come together successfully made me realize how valuable collaboration is and how satisfying it is to achieve something as a team.

Overall, working on the “Pink Lemonade” theme at Global Odyssey helped me understand the importance of collaboration, patience, and adaptability. It showed me that when a team works together, combining different ideas and skills, the result is not only more creative but also more rewarding. This experience strengthened my teamwork skills and gave me confidence in contributing to group projects successfully. This also help me with making a good project which looked so good in and out it was fun and exciting to collaborate with each other, and we could make this event a success which was great.
