Math Pi Day (Decor): Creativity

Our school held a lively Math Pi Day celebration on March 18th during which students ran food stalls and prepared projects that were by taken part by others by participating several activities. Being on the décor and food stall teams, I choose to pick the decor for my CAS experience as it was a amuzing commitment with lot of fun.

Learning Outcome 1: Identify Own Strengths And Develop Areas For Growth
The decor as a occasion was a great learning chance. Designing decorations that would both reflect the subject of Pi Day and be visually appealing for the attendees presented us several difficulties. I had limited knowledge in event decoration at first, but I welcomed the difficulty and discovered how to creatively employ different materials. I learnt the craft of item arrangement to produce an appealing, inviting environment and acquired knowledge of working with props such wall hangings and posters. Conquering these challenges increased my confidence in my capacity to manage creative initiatives and strengthened my problem-solving skills.

Learning Outcome 4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
Over the course of the event, I showed my dedication to making it succeed. Though under pressure and last-minute modifications, I stayed concentrated and committed to finishing all my tasks. This involved remaining after the event to assist clean up. There were times when the work seemed too much, but I remained driven remembering the end aim. This opportunity helped me to overcome obstacles and properly manage my time to satisfy the head of the decor team expectations.

Learning Outcome 5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
Working directly with my team was one of the most exciting and fun part. During the planning, we worked together to generate ideas, assign responsibilities, and help one another. I discovered how to properly express myself in a group such that everyone’s thoughts were acknowledged and deadlines for assignments were met. Working together’s advantages became obvious as we could mix our abilities, hence producing a more refined and successful event. This event underlined the need of cooperation and how much more the group effort can accomplish than individual efforts by themselves.
