What the experience was:
For this CAS experience, our class was divided into three groups, each responsible for organizing different aspects of a school recreational event. One group handled the DJ booth and musical activities, another set up and managed games on the volleyball court, while the third organized games in the assembly area. I actively contributed to my group’s assigned tasks, helping plan activities, coordinate logistics, and manage students during the event. The goal was to create a lively, inclusive, and enjoyable environment where all students had equal opportunities to participate.

Connection to Sustainable Development Goal:
This experience relates to SDG 10: Reducing Inequalities, as it focused on creating an inclusive celebration where all students could participate equally in recreational activities, fostering community spirit and equal opportunities for enjoyment.

Connection to Learning Outcomes:

LO1 (Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth): This experience helped me reflect on my personal strengths and the areas where I still have room to grow. While organizing the activities, I noticed that I was good at taking initiative, managing small tasks efficiently, and maintaining a positive attitude even when things got stressful. These strengths helped keep the group motivated and focused. However, I also recognized weaknesses, particularly in time management and communication. At times, I struggled to coordinate with others or express ideas clearly, which slowed our progress. Acknowledging these areas allowed me to understand where I need to improve and how to become more effective in group settings.ement and communication.

LO4 (Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences): The planning and execution of this event required consistent commitment from all group members. From organizing materials to coordinating the flow of activities, there were several tasks that demanded patience and focus. I demonstrated perseverance by attending every planning session, taking responsibility for my assigned tasks, and adapting when unexpected challenges arose. Even when managing the event became hectic such as dealing with time delays or ensuring all students participated smoothly I stayed committed to contributing my best. This experience showed me the importance of following through on responsibilities and maintaining dedication in order to create a successful and enjoyable event.

LO5 (Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively): Collaboration was central to the success of this experience. Our team had to coordinate not only within our own group but also with the other two groups to ensure that the event ran smoothly. We divided tasks, communicated regularly, and supported one another when challenges came up. I learned the importance of clear communication, mutual respect, and listening to different perspectives. By working together, we were able to create a balanced and inclusive celebration that gave every student the chance to participate. This experience reinforced that effective teamwork leads to better outcomes and makes large scale events more organized and enjoyable.
