Literary Musing also known as Monsoon Musings, is a celebration of ideas, feelings and excitement. It is a literature event where all the writers get together to share their written pieces that they would like to, including stories, poem’s, and personal experiences in a creative way. Each student, teacher, staff member has an exciting opportunity to unlock their inner creativity and share their emotions, deepest thoughts and imagination among the audience. In this event, I was a part of the decor team where we created a variety of decorations related to literature to uplift the lively atmosphere and enhance the decorum of the event. We created decorations such as clouds, airplanes, book hangings, stack of books, written poetry/pieces, feedback corner, photo booth, letter with varied languages, and more.
LO 1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
I have always liked decorations but haven’t got much opportunity for the same. As a part of this event, I had a chance to be creative, imaginative and productive so that we can get various ideas to make the event more cheerful and lively. Working collaboratively was also one of the challenges that I faced being a part of the team as we had to ensure that everyone was on the same page but because of lack of communications at first, there were many such circumstances that took place where at a point, people were not fully aware of the exact plan. Additionally, with many people in the team, there were numerous ideas suggested with various perspectives and hence collaborating with others and agreeing on things was also a challenge. Despite the difficulties, I was still able to successfully complete the event and be a part of the team.
LO 4. Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience
For the event, there were two different venues and we hardly had 11 days to plan, create and decorate the venue. With time-constraints, it demanded a high level of commitment and perseverance so that we could complete things on time. Hence, me and my team made a lot of effort and invested as many hours as we could by doing early in’s, 3-4 pullouts on days & more so that we could finish all the decorations by the event day. Though we faced some obstacles where we were still left with making some decorations as well as placing all of them and only 2-3 hours were left before the event got started, with the help of some teachers and other students, we were able to manage everything on time.
LO 5. Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively
The collaboration of all the team members was a key to the success of the event. Despite facing some communication issues at the beginning and varied perspectives, moving ahead – with mutual understanding and dividing of roles we were able to manage it greatly. Collaboration was really essential for this event so that we can work efficiently and get a positive result. With this experience, I learned the true value of teamwork and the importance of collaboration for achieving the desired outcome.
In conclusion, being a part of literary musings was really fun and interesting. It also taught me teamwork and helped me in developing collaboration skills too. With this exciting opportunity, I was able to identify my strengths, deal with the challenges, & work collaboratively with others which made the event successful.
