LO3 – Initiate and Plan a CAS Experience

As part of the Garba Festival at school, my friends and I took on the exciting challenge of organizing a food stall. This opportunity allowed us to contribute to the event while also enhancing our planning and teamwork skills.

Our first step was deciding on a menu that would appeal to both students and staff. We carefully selected a mix of snacks, desserts, and drinks that were easy to prepare and serve. To efficiently manage our time, we balanced homemade food with store-bought items.

My primary responsibility was preparing food for the stall, including Cheese Nachos. To ensure smooth operations, we divided tasks among ourselves—one friend handled the shopping, another focused on food preparation, while I took charge of setting up the stall, managing the budget, and promoting our stall during the event. I also planned the setup and cleanup process to ensure a seamless experience. Additionally, we prepared backup strategies to tackle any challenges, such as running out of food.

Effective teamwork and clear communication played a crucial role in making the event successful. Regular check-ins helped us stay on track and address any issues promptly.

LO4 – Show Perseverance and Commitment in CAS Experience

Balancing schoolwork alongside preparing for the food stall required dedication and strong time management. This experience taught me the importance of perseverance and staying committed to a goal despite challenges.

The day of the event was hectic, with a steady flow of customers. Managing the crowd efficiently while ensuring we had enough food was a demanding task. I focused on staying organized, directing my team, and handling restocking when needed.

Commitment was essential, especially when tasks became tiring, such as waking up early to prepare food or staying late for cleanup. However, seeing the positive response from customers made all the effort worthwhile. Additionally, I took the initiative to market our stall to teachers, who later appreciated both the food and service. This reinforced my understanding that dedication and hard work contribute significantly to a successful outcome.

LO5 – Demonstrate Skills and Benefits of Working Collaboratively

This experience highlighted the power of teamwork. By dividing tasks effectively, we ensured that our stall ran efficiently. Each member contributed in a unique way—whether it was food preparation, financial management, or organizing the stall layout.

Collaboration played a key role in overcoming challenges. Whenever an issue arose, we worked together to find quick solutions, improving our problem-solving and communication skills. This experience showed me that success is much easier to achieve when responsibilities are shared, and everyone works towards a common goal.

Final Reflection

Running the food stall was a fun and enriching experience that taught me valuable lessons in teamwork, time management, and problem-solving. It reinforced the significance of perseverance and collaboration in achieving a successful outcome. This experience has encouraged me to approach future challenges with the same level of enthusiasm and commitment.
