Photobooth Booth.

Strand: Creativity
Location: School front lawn
Date: 6 Feburary

My experience with the photobooth booth was a valuable experience as it has left me out of my comfort zone. It provided me with an opportunity to experience something new, cope with unanticipated difficulties, and develop personally and professionally. Between the initial planning and the actual process of making the booth work, each point taught me a lesson to be learned. This reflection shows how I was able to show various learning outcomes during this process.

LO 2: Taking on challenges and developing new skills.
It was really exciting and difficult to manage the photobooth. The most difficult thing initially was to draw customers especially those who appeared to be reluctant. I tried imaginative strategies to beat this, lowering prices, promoting the booth and coming in direct contact with the potential client. With these endeavours, I was able to become more problem solvers and more adaptable. My communication skills have also enhanced since I have engaged with various individuals and this is one thing that I know will help me in any business environment.

LO 3: Planning and initiating the experience.
The establishment of the booth did not only involve coming out the day but it involved a serious planning. I did some work on budgeting, sourcing props, layout and even making a marketing strategy. I also needed to consider the experience the customer would have- how to make them feel at ease and also, have fun. This made me learn about the need to plan and be attentive. Details, such as the positioning of props or how we welcomed customers, were very significant to the success of the booth.

LO 4: Commitment and perseverance.
Things did not necessarily work out in the plan. Sometimes we were not as many visitors at the booth as we expected, and it was disappointing. I did not give up but remained determined and sought to make corrections. I also made it interactive by mingling with the guests, motivating them to form group photos, and introducing humor parts. This perseverance was rewarded when an increasing number of individuals started paying attention and engaging. It also made me understand that one needs to remain committed and adjust to challenges to be successful.

LO 5: Collaboration and teamwork.
The photobooth turned out to be a collaboration. There were certain duties that we had to accomplish, her to handle money, my to deal with customers, to prepare props and all of us had to pull together and make sure everything was going in the right direction. Effective, fast communication was essential. I also got to understand the value of teamwork in succeeding because each one of us had a special ability. Collaboration allowed us to make a joyful and unforgettable experience of all the visitors of our booth.
