The purpose of this CAS project was to initiate, plan, and organise a Literature Festival in school that fostered creativity, collaboration, and community engagement.
LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
I learned to use my strengths in organisation and creativity while improving my time management and delegation skills.
LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills
I faced challenges such as coordinating schedules, managing resources, and ensuring inclusivity in events, which helped me develop leadership and problem-solving skills.
LO3 – Initiate and plan a CAS experience
I took initiative to design the structure of the festival, plan activities, and assign responsibilities to peers, ensuring the event was well-organised.
LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience
I demonstrated perseverance by consistently working on the project despite time constraints and unexpected issues, ensuring tasks were completed before deadlines.
LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively
Collaboration was key, as I worked with peers, teachers, and external participants, valuing different perspectives and sharing responsibilities.
LO6 – Engagement with issues of global significance
The festival encouraged discussions on themes such as diversity in literature, freedom of expression, and cultural appreciation, making it globally relevant.
LO7 – Recognise and consider the ethics of choices and actions
I made ethical decisions when selecting themes, ensuring inclusivity and respect for all cultures, while giving equal opportunity to every participant.
