Rural Immersion

Strand: CAS(Creativity,Activity,Service)

During our Rural Immersion Trip to Kilad Camp in Navasari,I experienced the rich culture and simplicity of village life. From exploring local art forms like Lipan to hands-on farming,It was a journey into tradition, creativity, and community living.

LO1: Identify your own strengths and develop areas for personal growth.

While in kilad camp site, I got to experience and find my strength and imporvable areas for personal growth . Strengths were framing and ability to convserve with local in there comfortable language . which was Gujarati . Which help me to learn how simple life they live . my imporvable area were madala art and Rock Climbing . Which were new for me . I have zero knowledge and experiences for both the activity .

LO2:Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.

When I first started this project, I honestly didn’t realize how many challenges I would run into. with the extra responsibilities was harder than I expected, and at times I felt stressed trying to keep up with everything. On top of that, working with people who had completely different ideas and approaches was tricky .I had to learn how to listen better and adapt instead of just pushing my own way. There were also moments when things didn’t go according to plan, which forced me to stay calm and think of alternatives quickly as I was on myself. Even though it was tough, these challenges taught me patience, better communication, and how to work as part of a team. Looking back, I feel good because those skills came from moments where I could have easily given up but chose to keep going.

LO3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.

When I started this CAS experience, the planning part honestly felt like the hardest step. Figuring out what activities would actually work, how to organize and apply them, and making sure everyone was on the same ideal while the activies . I had to sit down, break things into smaller steps, and sometimes even change the plan completely when things didn’t go as expected. Taking the lead and making decisions taught me a lot about being organized and also about trusting others when I divided tasks. Looking back, I realized that initiating and planning wasn’t just about getting things done it was about learning how to turn an idea into something real and meaningful.d

LO4:Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences.

A alot of activities ,I did needed me to stay committed over a long time. Sometimes it got tiring, and there were days when I didn’t feel like continuing, but I pushed myself to stay consistent. Even when tasks felt boring or difficult, I kept showing up and putting in the effort. This taught me that perseverance is really important because results don’t come right away it may also take time and patience. In the end, staying dedicated made the experience more meaningful and helped me see the value of not giving up.

LO5:Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.

working with others was really important. I saw that some tasks were too big to do alone, so teamwork made things easier and faster. Sometimes it was hard because we all had different opinions, but by listening to each other and sharing the work, we got better results. I also improved my communication and learned how to depend on others. Overall, working together made the experience more successful and also more fun.

LO6:Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance.

My CAS activity was local, but it made me see bigger world problems. I noticed how issues like poverty, lack of education, and pollution are not just in one place but happen in many countries. Taking part showed me that even small efforts can help and connect to these global issues. It made me understand that little actions can still make a difference.

LO7:Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions.

I learned that it’s important to think about how my actions affect other people. I tried to make sure that what I was doing was respectful and not harmful in any way. I also thought about things like being fair, caring for the environment, and respecting other people’s values. This made me realize that our choices, even the small ones, can have a big impact, so it’s always important to do the right thing.

Conclusion:

Looking back at all my experiences in kilad, I can see how much I learned and grew through the challenges. I faced difficulties but learned patience and teamwork, I took initiative by planning and organizing activities, and I stayed committed even when things got tough. Working with others taught me how important collaboration is, and I also understood how small actions connect to bigger world issues. Most importantly, I realized that thinking about the impact of my choices and acting responsibly is a big part of service. Overall, CAS helped me step out of my comfort zone, develop new skills, and understand the value of helping others in a meaningful way.
