me to grow both personally and socially while contributing to a meaningful cause. From the beginning, I recognized my own strengths and areas for growth (LO1) — I had limited prior experience with pickleball, but I was eager to step out of my comfort zone and develop new skills in a sport that required agility, coordination, and strategy. Setting a personal challenge to actively participate in the event (LO2), I committed myself to learning the rules quickly and practicing with peers so that I could contribute to my team with confidence. This process required initiative and perseverance (LO3), since it was easy to feel overwhelmed at first, but sticking with the learning curve helped me build resilience and adaptability. The event itself was collaborative by nature (LO4), as success in pickleball depends on effective teamwork, communication, and supporting your partner under pressure. Beyond the game, the entire tournament emphasized engagement with a global issue (LO6) — cancer awareness and the importance of raising funds to support those affected. Being part of a student-driven initiative to address this cause gave me a deeper appreciation of how small actions can contribute to broader social change. At the same time, the event reinforced the importance of ethics and responsibility (LO7), since our participation wasn’t just for enjoyment but tied to raising awareness and money in an honest, respectful way that honored the gravity of the cause. Ultimately, the Play2Beat Cancer experience combined physical challenge, skill development, and social responsibility into one powerful project, making me more reflective of the ways in which individual effort, when aligned with community collaboration, can make a tangible impact.
