CAS Trip- Activity

When I first heard about Bhavar Kada Waterfall in Dang, I pictured a peaceful, easy walk followed by a beautiful view. Reality had other plans—it turned out to be a test of stamina, patience, and teamwork, and honestly, that’s what made it so memorable.

LO 1-  Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth Screen reader support enabled.
Right from the start, I realised I could handle the physical demands pretty well. The uphill climbs, the rocky patches, the slippery forest floor, I could keep up without too much trouble and even lend a hand to friends who were struggling. But when it came to navigation, I was completely reliant on our guide. I barely glanced at the route map, which made me realise I need to work on that skill for future trek

LO 2- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills.
The trail threw everything at us, steep inclines, moss-covered rocks, streams that needed hopping over, and air so humid it felt like we were walking inside a warm cloud. By the end, I’d learned how to pace myself better, balance more carefully, and keep moving even when every step felt heavier than the last.

LO 4- Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience.
About halfway to the waterfall, some people wanted to turn back—they were tired, overheated, and worried about the climb back. That’s when I stepped in to keep spirits high. We shared snacks, swapped bags so no one was overburdened, and kept each other laughing. By the time we finally reached the falls, the sense of achievement was just as refreshing as the cool spray from the water.

LO 7- Recognise and consider the ethics of choices and actions.
Standing in front of Bhavar Kada, with its clear rushing water and untouched surroundings, I knew we had a responsibility to keep it that way. We made sure to leave no litter, avoided picking plants, and kept to the marked trail so we wouldn’t disturb the wildlife. It felt good knowing our fun didn’t come at nature’s expense.

Conclusion
By the end of the day, my shoes were muddy, my legs were aching, and I was drenched—partly from the waterfall, partly from sweat—but I couldn’t stop smiling. The trek reminded me that the best moments often come after the hardest climbs, that nature is a privilege we should protect, and that with the right mindset, challenges can turn into unforgettable adventures.
