Monsoon musings were an event where people got together to celebrate the art of language where people presented short stories, speeches, and poems to share feelings and express emotions. It was a literary event where all participants including staff, teachers, and students shared their original work in any language they preferred. It was a celebration of literature where I got the opportunity to decorate the venues to create a room where people felt inspired to share and speak their thoughts. To create an eye-pleasing decor that allows them to feel an essence of comfort and create the right mood for the audience.
LO 1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
LO 1 : As part of the team, I recognized my strength in creativity and collaboration, which helped in designing an engaging atmosphere for the audience and participants, However, I identified my areas of growth, particularly in time management as I tend to procrastinate. By organizing tasks more efficiently and learning to adjust quickly, I improved my ability to work under pressure. This experience not only enhanced my artistic skills but also helped me develop resilience contributing to my overall growth.
LO 2 : Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
LO 2 : As a member of the decoration team for Monsoon Musing, I tackled challenges in designing and executing creative decor within deadlines. The first challenge was deciding on decorations, everyone had different ideas but with teamwork, I developed artistic planning and problem-solving skills leading to more qualified work within time constraints. Overcoming these obstacles enhanced my ability to manage events effectively and create an immersive literary atmosphere for participants.
LO 5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
LO 5 : Since I was a part of the decoration team of Monsoon Musing ‘Safrana’, it required me to work effectively with my teammates and ensure smooth execution. Working as part of a team needed me to apply communication skills, and listening skills, be accountable, reliable, and good at conflict management. Through this experience, teamwork is about dividing your responsibilities and playing a unique role that benefits the team. Even though the execution was seamless, we often faced challenges such as disagreements on themes or resources which slowed our pace. However, with time we recognized our mistakes and used problem-solving skills to brainstorm solutions for end-moment problems. Lastly, this experience allowed me to apply and develop my collaboration skills.
