Anand Utsav 2025

Anand Utsav is an annual event organised by FS for their staff members, honouring and recognising their hard work and service. This year I was privileged to have the opportunity to engage in acts of service, giving back to those who serve us everyday.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills.

Although there were many volunteers to help each other out, the staff that we had to adhere to was way more than our volunteer numbers. Moreover, since activities were being held in various spaces all over the school, there were challenges in terms of communications between the volunteers in different spaces. However, during our planning process, since we had addressed how this issue could come up, and had found a solution to it, we were able to tackle it to a major extent. Apart from developing communication skills, we also developed the resilience to keep going on despite the challenges.

LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience.

As discussed above, all volunteers were faced with major challenges throughout the event. However, none of us gave up but kept trying out best to make the event as memorable as we could for the staff members. Moreover, even before the event, due to IB submissions and exams coming up, I had difficulty getting time out to plan for this event. However, I showed my commitment and perseverance towards the event, creating a proper schedule to manage my time, and be able to complete all my tasks within the time I have 🙂

LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively.

Such a huge event could not have been held successfully without the volunteers helping and supporting each other. From making thousands of decorations ourselves to implementing our plans for the event on event day, all volunteers worked collectively to making the day special for our school’s staff members. During times when some volunteers were unable to fulfil their assigned roles, other volunteers without any hesitation worked extra to fulfil the other volunteer’s, as well as their own individual roles.
