I have been playing table tennis in and outside school for 5 years now. I took the HDP program in school to practice my skills further. We are provided with training and interaction with many students which help me gain more skills.
LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
Through consistent engagement in practice sessions and competitive matches, I can pinpoint specific areas of my table tennis game that demonstrate proficiency, such as a strong forehand drive or a reliable serve. Conversely, I can also identify areas requiring improvement, such as my backhand technique or footwork agility. By analyzing my performance through self-assessment and feedback from coaches or peers, I can gain a deeper understanding of my strengths and weaknesses. This process involves evaluating my technical skills, tactical decision-making, and mental resilience.
LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
The journey of learning and refining table tennis techniques is inherently filled with challenges that foster skill development. For instance, mastering a complex serve variation or adapting to an opponent’s unpredictable playing style requires consistent effort and strategic thinking. Additionally, participating in competitive matches or tournaments provides opportunities to test and refine skills in a challenging environment. Overcoming the pressure of competition and learning from both victories and defeats contributes to personal growth and skill development.
LO4: Show perseverance and commitment in the CAS experience
Regular practice and dedication to improving skills demonstrate perseverance. Committing to coaching or volunteering shows a commitment to service.
