Dancing has been an exciting and expressive journey for me in our AS dance course. It’s been a way to let go have fun and connect with music in a new way. Throughout the course we’ve learned different routines each one teaching me something new about rhythm coordination and expressing emotions through movement. Dance isn’t just about the steps it’s about how it makes you feel and how you can use it to express yourself. It’s been an amazing experience and I’m excited to keep learning and improving.
LO 4: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken and developing new skills
Taking dance has definitely been a challenge, especially with the Michael Jackson routine. The moves were tricky and to make it harder I was sick during the learning phase. Even though I struggled I kept pushing myself to practice and not give up. It wasn’t easy but working through it helped me become more patient and persistent. I learned not just about dance, but also how to deal with setbacks and keep going. This experience showed me that even when challenges feel tough, pushing through them helps you grow and build strength.
LO 5: Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively
Working with my peers has definitely been one of the highlights of this dance course. Learning the routines together meant we had to rely on each other to stay in sync and make sure we were all getting the moves right. Whether we were practicing together or helping each other out when someone was stuck the support from everyone made everything easier. I realized that teamwork in dance isn’t just about knowing the steps it’s about trusting each other and working together to improve as a group. It made me appreciate how much better we can do when we support one another.
LO 7 : Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions
During my dance slots, I got to try different dance styles and learn new moves. It wasn’t just about dancing though I also had to think about the ethics behind it like respecting others avoiding cultural appropriation and being inclusive. It made me realize that dance isn’t just for self-expression but it’s also important to be mindful and respectful of others while performing and interacting.
