Being a part of the Global Odyssey event offered a thrilling experience of merging entrepreneurship and creativity. It was not just about coordinating a stall; it was about innovating a compelling experience for attendees while keeping operations in order.

I contributed to the Global Odyssey event by organizing a stall for an entertaining game named “Score and Goal.” The participants were charged INR 50 to kick a football into various goalposts, each with varying points. We made a total profit of INR 3000 at the end of the event.

Managing the “Score and Goal” stall was a rewarding experience that challenged me to use both entrepreneurial and creative abilities. From the planning to implementation, I understood how vital it was to marry creativity with functional problem-solving. The concept of the game was straightforward yet interactive, and it drew in a lot of participants, helping our overall earnings amount to INR 3000.

Identify Own Strengths and Develop Areas for Growth (LO1): Through this experience, I learned about my communication and event management strengths. I was able to effectively communicate with participants and explain the rules of the game, and encourage them to participate. I observed that I should work on time management, particularly during peak times when several participants wanted to play at the same time. To overcome this, I began assigning tasks to team members and ensuring that they ran smoothly.

Demonstrate How to Initiate and Plan a CAS Experience (LO3): Planning the stall included brainstorming the idea for the game, budgeting money for materials, and organizing a nice stall. I also had to think ahead about possible pitfalls, including working with limited space and crowd management. This lesson taught me about thinking ahead to obstacles and keeping contingency plans on hand.

Demonstrate Commitment and Resilience (LO4): There were times during the event when the crowd was so dense, handling the stall was a task. Yet my dedication to delivering a good experience for participants remained steadfast. I briefly took time out when required to do so, ensuring I had enough energy to keep me enthusiastic.

Demonstrate Skills and Recognize the Benefits of Collaboration (LO5): Working with my team was crucial for the stall’s success. We divided responsibilities, with some managing registrations, others overseeing the game, and one person handling the cash. This collaborative approach ensured efficiency and reduced stress for everyone involved.

Beyond the actual event, the experience had taught me to appreciate teamwork, flexibility, and perseverance. I had learned that setbacks are bound to occur, but with proper planning and coordination, they are surmountable. The experience had also fascinated me about event management, challenging me to seek out similar opportunities in the future.
