Community cleanup was an event which was held every Sunday, starting from 24th November 2024. It was held every Sunday till 9th February. I attended these sessions on 12th January, 26th January and on 9th February. It happened in 2 different locations. Dumas Beach on 12th&26th, and Navdi Ovaro on 9th February. This experience was like, everyone was divided into pairs, and each pair had to fill 1 garbage bag with trash that is loitered on the wetland and on the Dumas beach.
LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills
This experience was conducted in a very safe environment which was not dangerous for us, however there were some challenges that I faced during this service. The first challenge that I faced in Dumas was that most of the trash was lying on the sides of the beach, and the waves had caused mud to enter the enter the trash present there, so it was a bit difficult to pick up the trash there. Another challenge that I faced was in Navdi Ovaro, as the place that was assigned to us was having dirty smells due to the food trash present there, which included chips, chewing gums, tobacco etc.
LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience
This CAS experience is not one which everybody was able to complete, as this required 1 hour of their time and that too on a Sunday. This CAS service required perseverance and commitment in it, which was accomplished by me as I was able to complete this experience and in the last round which was on 9th February, sir had given us 1 garbage bag each and said to fill it full in the last cleanup drive. So in this scenario, this LO was completed in the CAS experience and I was able to fill the whole garbage bag.
LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively
This learning outcome was pretty much required for this experience as were assigned with pairs during the cleanup drives in Dumas, so I and my partner had to work collaboratively and complete the cleanup drive by filling up the whole garbage bag. Working collaboratively helped us in gathering trash loitered there quickly and with the collaborative work we were doing the work more efficiently as one was carrying the bag and the other would collect the trash and in some time it would be vice versa.
Evidence of this experience:

Conclusion:-
To conclude, this was an amazing CAS experience and it helped me to work collaboratively with others and we got to actually know that how much we humans loiter the beaches and wetlands. Also I was not able to see any strict action taken by the government which was a setback to me. There should have been actions taken by the government as well but my overall experience was great.
