Night Cricket Tournament – Activity

Participating in a night cricket tournament was an exhilarating and enriching experience that not only tested my skills but also allowed me to develop essential personal and collaborative abilities.

LO1 – Identifying Strengths and Areas for Growth

Through the tournament, I recognized my strength in bowling. I was able to maintain consistency in my deliveries, control my pace, and take crucial wickets for the team. However, I also identified my weaknesses in batting and fielding. I struggled to time my shots effectively and had difficulty positioning myself correctly while fielding. Acknowledging these areas for growth has encouraged me to focus on improving my batting technique and fielding skills.

LO2 – Undertaking Challenges and Developing New Skills

Playing a match at night presented several challenges, such as visibility issues and adjusting to the artificial lighting. Despite my difficulties in batting and fielding, I pushed myself to stay engaged, learn from my teammates, and make small improvements during the game. The experience taught me resilience and patience, reinforcing that progress comes with consistent effort and practice.

LO5 – Working Collaboratively and Understanding Its Benefits

Cricket is a team sport, and our success depended on strong teamwork and communication. I worked closely with my fellow bowlers to set up strategies against the opposing team’s batters, and my teammates supported me in field placements. Their encouragement helped me stay motivated despite my weaknesses in batting and fielding. This experience highlighted the importance of collaboration, trust, and learning from one another.

The night tournament was more than just a game it was an opportunity for self-improvement, teamwork, and embracing challenges. It reinforced the importance of pushing past limitations and working collectively to achieve success.
