Aabal Nahi Sabal is an organization that helps in the holistic development of people suffering from down syndrome, blindness and physical disabilities. They organise events and workshops where in they sell handcrafted items in order to generate revenue for the organization. I had inculcated my creativity skills and painted tote bags for a the organization as a act of service.
LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills: Though I was aware of painting and drawing skills, painting on a new canvas like a jute bag was really tough for me. For the same, I had to develop better skills and practice more in order to give best results.
LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience: I was dedicated in completing the order that we had to received. We were asked to complete painting 100 tote bags as a group, out of which I was assigned to paint 10 bags. For the same, I had made sure that I complete all of them during the time period given.
LO6 – Engagement with issues of global significance: This CAS experience is really well connected with SDG 3 – good health and well being. In order to support people with certain special needs and support their cognitive development, I decided to paint the bags. This issue is significant all over the world and if I could do something for the betterment of these people, it would be a really great initiative and experience for me.
