Cross Country Run- Activity

I have never been able to give time for any kind of physcial acitivity. I do priortise my health and well-being, however, can’t push myself to give time to any kind of acitivity since it seems like such a burden even thought I am fully aware of its positive impacts. Through this experience, I was provided a great oppourtunitiy to be bale to run 3 km thrice in order build a habit for physical confrontation and finally being able to push myself physically rather than a lazy lifestyle.

LO 1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

I was able to identify my weakness for stamina, core strength and having a physical restriant. The first run was extremly difficult for me as I was barely able to run, especially with the scorching heat. I didn’t realise how much distance was to be covered and it lead me to lose confidence to be able to run in the rest of the marathons. Yet, I was still able to stay persistent even after that. I realised that becuase of lack of practice I wasn’t able to run well even for quite a short distance. After that I was able to go running for some consecutive days in order to build stamina for the next run and building stratergies to be able to run for a longer time rather than start walking. This initially showed me how I felt physcial restriant easily posing as one of my weaknesses. Yet with the strategic building and practice, this experience showed me how I was able to build strength to face this challenge that posed as my weakness and build stamina simentanously as well overall having a positive impact on my body. In the next two runs, I didn’t face as much problem as I did in the first run and was even able to cut down 10 minutes of time after that.

LO 2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

I faced great challenges during the cross cuntry run as I’m not accumsted to running or any physical acitivity as muhc. I wasn’t able to cover as much distance initally in a short amount of time and felt fautige and exhaustion after the first run which lead me to lose confidence to run in the next marathons. This was a great challenge for me which I required to overcome in order to run the next time easily and not facing as much diffuclty.

In order to face this challenge, I started running a certain distance for some consecutive days which allowed me to build stamina and strength for me to easily run the next time. Then, I was able to come with certian stratergies which would allow me to run for a longer time rather than walking for longer. With those stratergies and practice, I was able to overcome this challenge where I build my stamina and was able to run in a shorter time span that last time.

It was important for me to overcome this challenge as it showed me how I could build more resilience than before and how practice makes me stronger than before motivating me to engage in other physical activities as well.

LO 4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

Through this experience, I was able to identify how I could cross my physical barriers by practice and strategic building helping my physical and mental stability. Initially, I faced great challenges to cover as much distance as before which lead me to face difficulties whether to continue the marathons or not. Yet, with commitment and determination, I built stamia by running a certian distance for a few days and coming up with strategies allowing me to run ahead. Showing commitment and perseverance was important for me here since it allowed me to gain confidence in myself as I could achieve anything I aim for no matter what physical or mental obstacles face me.

Conclusion

Overall, this experience was quite good for me including my physical and mental health as I was able to overcome challenges allowing me to overcome physical and mental restraints that I faced. Initially, I was not able to motivate myself to perform any physical actiivites, yet after this experience I am able to push myself to perform such tasks in my daily routine. It helped overcome my comfort zone allowing me to be more proactive when trying to perform any physical tasks.
