The Grade 12 Farewell was a memorable event filled with emotions, excitement, and creativity. Being part of the dance team, I had the opportunity to contribute to the event’s success through performance and teamwork. Additionally, I supported the decor team, helping to create a beautiful and nostalgic ambiance for the seniors. This CAS experience was not just about celebrating our seniors but also about developing new skills, planning an event, and working collaboratively to bring everything together.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken  developing new skills. 

Joining the dance team came with its own set of challenges. Learning new choreography, perfecting synchronization, and maintaining stage presence required dedication and practice. As someone who enjoys dancing but had never performed at such a large event, I had to push myself beyond my comfort zone. With consistent rehearsals and feedback, I developed better coordination, rhythm, and confidence, ultimately delivering an energetic performance.

LO3: Initiating and Plan a CAS Experience

Planning for the farewell event required significant effort, from selecting dance tracks to coordinating practice schedules. Balancing dance rehearsals with academic commitments was another challenge, but time management and structured planning helped us execute everything smoothly. Additionally, assisting the decor team allowed me to contribute creatively to the event’s overall aesthetic, ensuring that the farewell felt special for our seniors.

LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively.

The farewell was a true team effort. The dance team worked together to perfect the choreography, support each other in learning steps, and maintain synchronization. The decor team collaboration ensured that the event space was beautifully arranged, enhancing the farewell experience. Through this, I realized the power of teamwork, where every small effort contributed to a bigger, successful outcome.

Being part of the Grade 12 Farewell was a rewarding and enriching CAS experience. It helped me grow as a performer, planner, and team player, reinforcing the importance of creativity, collaboration, and dedication. The farewell was more than just a send-off for seniors—it was a celebration of teamwork, effort, and the joy of coming together to create something meaningful.
