Global Odyssey – Decor Team

Creativity

Participating in the Global Odyssey event as part of the decor team was an exciting experience. As a Business Management student, I was eager to contribute to the event’s success by utilizing my creative skills. This experience provided an opportunity to develop practical skills while playing a crucial role in enhancing the overall event atmosphere.

LO3 – Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.

Planning and initiating the decor for Global Odyssey required a structured approach, starting with brainstorming ideas that aligned with the event’s theme of Pink Lemonade. Our team conducted multiple discussions to develop a vision, assign responsibilities, and determine the necessary resources. Budget management and sourcing materials efficiently were also key components of the planning process. This experience taught me the importance of proactive organization, flexibility, and problem-solving in successfully executing a creative project.

LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience.

Being part of the decor team required a high level of dedication and persistence. From the initial planning stages to the final execution, there were many challenges, like time constraints, and material limitations. However, our team remained committed to the process, ensuring that every aspect of the decor was aligned with the event’s theme and expectations. Seeing our hard work come together on the event day was a testament to the effort and dedication we put in as a team.

LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively.

Collaboration was at the core of this experience. Working with the decor team meant that every member had to contribute ideas, and share responsibilities in executing the idea. Effective communication played a key role in coordinating tasks, from brainstorming design concepts to setting up decorations efficiently. By working together, we leveraged each other’s strengths, which resulted in a well-organized and visually appealing setup. This experience reinforced the importance of teamwork, adaptability, and collective problem-solving, all of which are valuable skills that extend beyond this event into real-world applications.
