Community Service: Teaching Frisbee

A group of classmates and I recently worked with children from neighboring schools as part of a community service project at my school. Our goal shifted to educating them on new topics and acquainting them with technology that was unavailable to them due to financial constraints. I joined a team that was in charge of introducing the students to sports like frisbee and emphasizing the value of collaboration and physical recreation. I gained a lot of new skills from this experience, and I also had a great influence on the community.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

It wasn’t as simple as I had thought to teach frisbee. Making sure every student understood the main tactics while maintaining lively and entertaining sessions became the biggest task. I had to quickly modify my teaching methods and communication style based on the group’s interests and areas of strength. Through the approach, I developed new skills that would benefit me in future leadership roles, such managing teams, communicating ideas more effectively electronically, and inspiring people.

LO4: Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience

This experience required steady attempt and determination. It wasn’t a one- time event however a sequence of periods that needed thorough planning and education. There have been moments whilst matters didn’t cross as deliberate- once in a while the scholars discovered the sport difficult, and it examined our endurance. However, we remained committed, made modifications to our approach, and saw actual progress via the cease of our time together. This staying power paid off, and it changed into highly profitable to look the students taking part in the sport and improving each week.

LO5: Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively

Collaboration was necessary for the success of this project. I worked together with my colleagues to ensure that the sessions were done properly without any issue, make sure that each student was engaged, and was fun to learn. We divided the responsibilities – some focused on teaching techniques, while others ensured that the students remained inspired and organized. This teamwork not only strengthened our bond as a group, but also taught me how powerful cooperation could be when it is based on shared goals and mutual support.

LO6: Engagement with issues of global significance

This initiative was aligned with two important stability goals: quality education and partnership to achieve the target. By joining with local school students, we contributed to creating an inclusive learning environment, where they can develop new skills and gain confidence. The game can be a powerful education tool, promoting teamwork, flexibility and self-esteem. This experience reminded me the global importance of ensuring equal access to such opportunities for all children.

Learner Profile Attributes Developed

During this experience, I developed open -minded and careful lenar profile characteristics. Working with students of different backgrounds encouraged me to listen, adapt and understand their unique needs and approaches. Being open -minded helped me stay flexible in my teaching style, while taking care allowed me to make students a safe, supportive place to learn and grow.

Conclusion

Participating in this community service project was a humble and rich experience. This taught me the importance of patience, perseverance and cooperation, strengthening the value of education and community participation. Most importantly, it was shown to me how small tasks can create meaningful changes and learn how powerful learning when shared through the simple game of frisbee.
