Bal Mela – Service

Bal Mela was an event where underprivilaged children came to our school. We have to chose from the categories from art and craft, sports and activities, dance and had to chose one and let them do that category. So my team had to let them play the game hula hoops race.

LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

The strengths which I had was of I gave instructions about the activities which my and team had was of hula hoops race so along with my 1 friend we both gave instructions about the activities to the children what they had to do in the race. The areas for growth which I had develop for this game is that the demonstration of the activity which I gave to the children was a major issue I can say was that we do had to explain in a language where they can simply understand what we spoke to children so that they can follow the activity with steps which we had given to them.

LO2 – Demonstrate the challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

The challenges have been undertaken was that during this most of the time so many children came together to play this hula loops race so like it was difficult for us for me and my team to divide them into the 2 groups with both equal number of children the same in both sides so that it is fair game and then we told them the first to reach the opposite side wins the hula hoops race so in that we also had to make sure about the rules which we had told them are they following or not.The skills which I had to develop in Bal Mela was that communication skills as while telling them the steps I do had to explain and communicate with children in simple way so that they understand what I had told to them about the activity.

LO6 – Engagement with issues of global significance

The issues of global significance is that Bal Mela is planned in a way so that underprivilaged childrenn with access to experiences which they lack behind for example they dont have proper education and basic need.experience is to strive towards society in order to give them equal opportunity to succeed. These kids have great skills and talent which they are not able to show due to the lack of basic needs.
