Hindi Immersion – Creativity

Hindi Immersion was an event organized by the school in order to improve the vocabulary and grammar of students in a fun and easy manner through playing interesting, easy and engaging games. I volunteered for the Hindi Immersion because Hindi has always been a strong component throughout my academics and was very confident that I could have a very good result by taking this experience. By this experience I was able to portray my creativity through the designing of the game for the event. In this experience I created a game named as “Hindi Vocabulary Adventure”, in which there were minimum 2 players required. In the game there were different situations which were, restaurant, house, school, office, hospital, park, market and transportation. Then there was a spinner wheel, and a location arrived on the game. Afterwards, there were different tasks given as per the location and there were points assigned to it as well. The players had to choose the respective points and at the end of the game, the person with the maximum points wins.

LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

By opting into the event I could immediately see the strengths that are associated with the subject. Hindi has always been a subject that I have been good with and by volunteering in this event, I could take out maximum results from the event. I though found out that creating a game for a bit struggling in the start, as the basic layout was an agonizingly difficult task to do as I had never created a game before and the difficulty that I faced was the communication that was required in the game, as there was requirement of speaking fluent Hindi throughout the event. Something that I developed during this event was the vocabulary that got enhanced in this event by the new words and phrases learnt through the game and also was able to find out words that I had never used or heard in my life before.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills.

A major challenge that was appearing during this experience was that there were several ideas available online providing guidance for creating the game in English, however, to create the game in Hindi was the biggest challenge and my supervisor played a major role as she was the one who was guiding me while creating the game. A skill that I developed during this experience is communication skills and vocabulary in Hindi. This experience helped me to also learn research skills and communication skills with the people while hosting the game.

LO3 – Initiate and plan a CAS experience.

This LO was pretty evident in this experience as I had to do several days of planning and research regarding creation of the game, and I had to use Hindi in such a way that others could understand it, so it was simple and comprehendible. There was also a need for creating a spinner wheel required for the game in order to provide the situation for the players.

Evidences of the Hindi Immersion:

Conclusion:-

To Conclude, this Hindi Immersion was a great success for me as their were plenty amount of students that came and played the game and enjoyed it very much, also while playing and enjoying the game, they also learned new words and phrases and enhanced their vocabulary in Hindi.
