FSMUN 11.0

Serving on the Organizing Committee for FSMUN was a great learning experience and an opportunity to hone different skills contributing to the event’s success. I mainly worked with decor and ensured an uninterrupted flow of activities during the day of the event. This experience was helpful in building self-awareness and perseverance, initiating and planning creatively , and working cooperatively in a team .

LO1 -Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth.

This was a learning journey that made me aware of my strengths and weaknesses. The decoration setup for an event this scale was about patience, effort, and detail. Exciting things were the last-minute adjustments to our venue layout, where my adaptability skills were put to test. I learned to stay calm, think rationally, and apply a methodology to reach a solution. These awareness capabilities and limitations helped me to grow as an individual and have strengthened faith in solving problems.

LO3 – Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.

The planning of the FSMUN decor involved creativity and careful planning. I researched various thematic options, developed a timeline for implementation, and coordinated with my teammates to ensure that everything was set up on time. It would be this balance of creativity and feasibility that would allow me to ensure that the decorations were beautiful and served their purpose in the event. This has enhanced the importance of being a forward thinker and implementing time management, which is vital for any large-scale event.

LO5 – Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

Being part of the Organizing Committee required communication and team spirit at all times. I collaborated with various teams like logistics and marketing for the seamless execution of the event. Task delegation, considering feedback, and altering plans while incorporating others’ ideas made me learn the value of teamwork. The experience taught me that teamwork is not just about dividing the work but also about helping each other to achieve the goal.

Conclusion

FSMUN was not just an event but one of personal development. Being responsible, resourceful, and teamwork-oriented was put to the test. The event cemented the ability to create meaningful contributions in large-scale events, making it a very significant part of my journey in CAS.
