Cervical Vaccination Drive: Planning for a Healthier Future
Participating in the cervical vaccination drive was a meaningful experience that allowed me to actively contribute to community health while understanding the broader importance of disease prevention.
LO3 – Initiate and plan a CAS experience.
The project required careful organization and planning. I was involved in coordinating schedules, informing participants about the importance of cervical cancer prevention, and ensuring a smooth flow during the vaccination process. Communicating with the organizing team and assisting in logistics taught me how to plan effectively within a limited timeframe. This experience enhanced my organizational skills and initiative-taking ability, as I had to manage both preparation and on-site assistance.
LO6 – Engagement with issues of global significance.
Cervical cancer is a global health concern, and HPV vaccination is a critical step in its prevention. Being part of this initiative helped me understand the global effort toward reducing cervical cancer rates, especially in developing nations where access to such healthcare services is limited. The drive emphasized how local action contributes to a larger, worldwide goal of disease eradication and women’s health empowerment.
Reflection
This experience made me realize the importance of proactive health measures and the role young individuals can play in spreading awareness. It inspired me to continue supporting health-related initiatives and advocate for preventive care in my community.
