As part of my CAS experience, I completed a 3-hour Be10x course in Artificial Intelligence (AI). This exercise exposed me to the basics of AI, such as its uses in solving problems and innovation. It was a great experience to merge creativity with technology as I learned new ideas and perspectives. It not only enhanced my intellectual experiences but also challenged me to consider how technology can contribute to the future.
LO1: Identifying Strengths and Areas for Growth
The course made me realize that I was strong in logical reasoning, which helped me grasp AI concepts such as machine learning and neural networks. At the same time, I realized areas where I could improve, specifically in using coding-based AI models. Through interactive exercises, I gained more confidence in closing this gap. By balancing strengths utilization with weak areas improvement, my self-awareness and learning experience were boosted. It taught me that self-reflection was key to ongoing improvement and effective learning.
LO2: Taking Challenges to Learn New Skills
Working with AI algorithms and data analysis tasks posed significant challenges, especially due to my limited programming background. Troubleshooting model errors was frustrating at first, but persistence built my resilience and problem-solving abilities. This experience reinforced the importance of stepping beyond my comfort zone, allowing me to acquire technical skills that will remain useful in future creative and academic endeavors. The challenge transformed into an opportunity, proving that determination often leads to growth and achievement.
Conclusion and Connection to LP: Inquirer
In general, the Be10x AI course was a valuable CAS Creativity experience that broadened my technical knowledge and creative thinking. It developed my Inquirer learner profile trait, as I continuously pursued knowledge, welcomed new challenges, and enhanced my interest in AI’s role in the world. This experience has encouraged me to keep pursuing the convergence of creativity and technology with an open and questioning mind so that my learning is purposeful and forward-facing.
