This was one of my longest CAS experiences. As part of my HDP, I chose dance. Dance has been one of my most loved hobbies but due to school and studies, it has been neglected for quite some time. I took this as an opportunity to rejoin dancing. Throughout the year, I learnt 4 different dances and performed them on different platforms as well.

Learning Outcomes
I could also connect this strongly to ‘LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills’, because it challenged me to step back into dance after a long break, which was not easy given the demands of school and academics. Learning four different dances and preparing to perform them on stage pushed me outside my comfort zone, as I had to relearn technical skills, improve my rhythm, and build stage confidence. Through consistent practice, I was able to develop new skills in coordination, body control, and performance, which not only helped me grow as a dancer but also strengthened my adaptability and resilience.
I could also connect this to LO4, which strated ‘Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience’, as this was one of my longest CAS experiences, requiring continuous perseverance and commitment over the course of the year. Balancing academics with regular rehearsals demanded discipline and time management, but my dedication allowed me to stay consistent. Even when practices became tiring or overwhelming, I chose to remain committed to my passion for dance, which ultimately led to successful performances across different platforms. This consistency reflects both my perseverance and the value I place on pursuing something I truly enjoy.
Connection with TOK
I could also connect this experiewnce to TOK since it showed me that knowledge is not alwyas gained in classrooms or through book, sbut it can also be developed through practical experiences like dance. By learning new steps and performing on stage, I realizxed that knowledge can be applied and practiced, not just thought about.
