Business Management Competition – Creativity

The Business Management Competition event was a shark tank where multiple teams participated to promote their apps and win the competition. The event started as a class project and eventually turned into a large competition. Through the initiative, the competition allowed entrepreneurs to showcase their ideas globally while addressing industry gaps, global issues, and business growth. This competition challenged each participant to showcase their best pitches to the audience.

LO 1:  Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

LO 1 : Participating in a Business Management Competition, I identified my strengths in innovation, problem-solving, and pitching ideas effectively. My team and I created a one-stop fashion brand app that helped me refine my business acumen and technical skills. However, I did recognize the need to improve market analysis and development expertise, pushing me to research and adapt showing significant growth.

LO 2 : Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

LO 2 : In the competition, I had to create a pitch for a one-stop app, which required me to tackle multiple challenges. Firstly, I needed to conduct thorough market research to understand consumer needs and industry gaps. Then, I have to develop a feasible and useful business model and design a functional app concept, despite having limited experience in app development. Through this process, I developed problem-solving skills addressing market demands and refined entrepreneurial skills by speaking a persuasive pitch which improved my public speaking skills. Overcoming these challenges not only strengthened my business ideas but also implied creativity and strategic thinking.

LO 6: Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance

LO 6 : The app created addressed multiple global issues. Firstly, SDG 12 Responsible Consumption and Production, it promoted ethical brands and sustainable materials. Tackling SGD 13 Climate Action, I researched fashion’s carbon footprint and encouraged eco coun cious choices. I also engaged with SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth by supporting fair trade brands and ethical labour. The app allowed small brands to also put their products online and increase sales providing job opportunities. Additionally, SDG 10 Reducing Inequalities featured inclusivity between diverse brands. This experience strengthened my research and problem-solving skills while promoting global awareness.
