The Grade 12 farewell was an important school event aimed at acknowledging and celebrating our seniors. I volunteered to contribute to the event’s decor. Along with a small group, I worked on planning the theme, sourcing materials, and executing the setup.
LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
While working on the decor, I identified planning and creative thinking as strengths. I contributed several design ideas. However, I realized that time management needed improvement, especially while working under tight deadlines. I addressed this by preparing checklists and organizing tasks in advance.
LO3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
We began the process by brainstorming concepts and dividing tasks according to individual strengths. This required careful planning of resources, timelines, and coordination with faculty, which helped me build practical event-planning skills.
LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
This experience reinforced the value of collaboration. Each team member had a specific role, and through clear communication and delegation, we were able to complete the setup efficiently.
