The Mokhmal Dang CAS trip was an memorable experience that made me go out of my comfort zone and allowed me to learn and experience things I never imagined. From the moment I boarded the bus I was very excited about the trip. The few days in Mokhmal were going to be adventourous and exciting as we had activities with the local community, exploring the natural beauty of the region, developing new skills, and reflecting on our experiences.
LO 1: Identify your own strengths and develop areas for personal growth
This trip provided me ample opportunities for self discoveries such as how fun it is to spend time with the local communities and try doing the traditional activities. I also realized about my strenghts in teamwork and communication while collabrating with my peers for different things.I also got to know about my areas of improvement such as being able to be in different places and adapt it while facing early mornings and a different kind of place to live in.
LO 2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
From doing the different kind of tracks to trying the dangi culture with dangi families, the trip gave me many challenges. Each challenge became a chance for growth. I learned farming techniques, Fish catching, Rice grainning etc. Interacting with the dangi people also improved my communication skills.
LO 3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
Although the trip was school-organized it provided usefull information aout planning and executing it. I saw how factors like safety, not making fun of the culture and tradtion, and how maintaing a good behaviour is important. I also learned the importance of being flexible to handle different situations.
LO 4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
The tight schedule, eaking up early and different place was a bit uncomfortable but still I managed to do it. Being commited to these things made my experience a lot better. Staying committed to my responsibilities, whether through cleaning, performing in a skit, or participating in activities, reinforced the importance of perseverance. Completing these challenges was very helpfull to me as it encouraged me to focus on my goals no matter how they are.
LO 5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
Teamwork played a crucial role in this trip. We worked together on projects like meal preperations, donations, making the kids play. This experience showed how teaming up is important and how it helps in making the work easier and faster. Working collaboratively made the experience more fulfilling and efficient.
LO 6: Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance
Communicating with the dangi people gave me deeper understanding of the culture and rural life there, environmental sustainability, and social responsibility. We learned about challenges faced by farmers, kids and womens. We also learned about the importance of preserving traditional crafts, and the effects of tourism on the environment. This experience was really helpfull as it gave me knowledge about rural issues which made me take some actions for them to make it better.
LO 7: Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions
The trip encouraged ethical reflection on tourism’s impact on local communities and the responsible use of resources. It also taught about respecting traditions, minimizing harming enviorment and supporting the local people. This has taught me to take actions cautiously so that it impacts positively.
Conclusion
The Mokhmal Dang trip was a very helpfull journey which taught about growth, discovery, and personal development. I came home with new skill and more self awarness. This experience strengthened my commitment to making a difference in my community and beyond, leaving a lasting impact on my mindset and future actions.
