Anand Utsav – Service

Anand Utsav was a heartwarming event planned to express gratitude toward our school’s support staff by engaging them in fun-filled activities. I was stationed at Khelangan, where I took charge of organizing and facilitating outdoor games for the helping staff. The games we conducted included dodgeball, tug of war, and a sponge water relay — all designed to bring out teamwork, laughter, and enjoyment among the staff members.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
Managing outdoor games for a large group came with unexpected challenges. Some support staff were hesitant to participate, while others had never played the games before. I had to think quickly, adjust the rules to be more inclusive, and find ways to make everyone feel comfortable. I also had to raise my voice confidently while explaining rules — something I was initially shy about. Through this experience, I developed better communication skills, gained confidence in leading group activities, and learned how to adapt plans on the spot depending on the situation.

LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience
The preparation and execution of the outdoor games required both energy and focus. I arrived early to help set up the area and stayed until the end to clean up and ensure everything went smoothly. Managing multiple rounds of games in the heat, keeping the support staff engaged, and encouraging them to participate actively required patience and constant effort. Despite moments of tiredness or confusion during the transitions between games, I remained enthusiastic and committed to making the experience enjoyable for everyone involved.

LO5 – Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
Anand Utsav would not have been successful without teamwork. At Khelangan, I worked closely with other students to manage game stations, explain rules, keep score, and cheer on participants. We communicated constantly to ensure each game flowed seamlessly and to adjust as needed depending on how the staff responded. We supported one another throughout — if one person was tired, another stepped in. The event showed me how collaboration leads to smoother execution, more creative ideas, and shared joy in seeing others happy.

Overall, Anand Utsav was a meaningful experience that combined problem-solving, teamwork, and service — reminding me that appreciation can be expressed in the simplest yet most joyful ways.
