organ donation

LO2 – Demonstrating Challenges Undertaken & Developing New Skills
Attending the guest session helped me gain knowledge about organ donation and transplantation. However, conducting my own session required me to develop public speaking, leadership, and communication skills to effectively educate my peers. I had to overcome the challenge of engaging the audience while presenting a complex topic.

LO3 – Initiating and Planning a CAS Experience
I took the initiative to organize and lead the guest session at my school, which involved planning the event, coordinating with school authorities, and ensuring all resources (such as the short film) were ready. This required detailed preparation to make the session informative and impactful.

LO5 – Demonstrating Skills and Benefits of Working Collaboratively
To execute the session successfully, I collaborated with teachers, school administrators, and technical staff to set up the film screening. I also worked with my peers to gather feedback and ensure the session was interactive and engaging. This reinforced the importance of teamwork in executing awareness campaigns.

LO6 – Engagement with Issues of Global Significance
Organ donation is a major global healthcare issue, and through my session, I contributed to spreading awareness about its importance. By educating students about how organ donation saves lives, I encouraged discussions on medical ethics, donation procedures, and the global shortage of organ donors.

LO7 – Recognizing and Considering the Ethics of Choices and Actions
Discussing organ donation required me to address the ethical aspects of donation, such as consent, myths, and the moral responsibility of saving lives. Through this session, I helped dispel misconceptions and encouraged students to consider the ethical impact of their choices regarding organ donation.

This initiative not only strengthened my skills in leadership and communication but also reinforced the importance of educating communities about life-saving global issues.
