Activity, Creativity
For my CAS experience, I took on the responsibility of managing all the food stalls and social media for an event. This role aligned well with my management and leadership skills, and I was excited to take on the challenge of ensuring the smooth execution of both aspects. Through this experience, I aimed to develop my ability to plan and coordinate effectively while working collaboratively with my team.
LO1: Identifying Strengths and Developing Areas for Growth
Taking on this role helped me recognize my strengths in organization, communication, and leadership. I was confident in my ability to oversee multiple aspects of an event, but I also realized there was always room for growth. One key area I aimed to improve was my ability to delegate tasks efficiently. Initially, I found myself trying to handle everything alone, but I learned that trusting my team and assigning tasks effectively led to a better outcome.
LO2: Undertaking Challenges and Developing New Skills
This experience presented various challenges, from coordinating multiple vendors to ensuring social media engagement remained high. Managing food stalls required attention to detail, especially in handling logistics, tracking sales, and ensuring food safety. On the social media side, creating engaging content and managing event promotions pushed me to develop my digital marketing skills. Overcoming these challenges strengthened my ability to multitask and adapt to unexpected situations.
LO3: Initiating and Planning a CAS Experience
From the start, I played an active role in planning and organizing this event. I created a structured plan for managing food stalls, including vendor selection, stall layout, and scheduling. Additionally, I developed a social media strategy to promote the event, designing content calendars and engaging with our audience to build excitement. This planning process taught me the importance of setting clear objectives and working towards them systematically.
LO4: Perseverance and Commitment
This role required consistent dedication, especially in the weeks leading up to the event. There were moments of stress when vendors backed out or when social media engagement was lower than expected. However, I remained committed to my responsibilities, finding solutions and adapting to new challenges. Through perseverance, I was able to ensure that everything stayed on track, reinforcing my ability to handle pressure and stay focused on long-term goals.
LO5: Collaboration and Teamwork
Working with a team was one of the most rewarding aspects of this experience. From coordinating with food vendors to brainstorming social media campaigns with my peers, I learned the value of effective teamwork. Good communication and mutual support played a crucial role in making this event successful. This experience showed me that collaboration led to innovative ideas and a more efficient execution of plans.
